<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Seven had his Cub Scout Blue and Gold Ceremony and went from a Tiger to a Bobcat. A parent gets to go up front with the Cub Scout. The white line symbolizes purity. It is to help the scouts remember right from wrong as they go along the scouting trail. The red line is for courage. It is to remind them to always speak the truth. The green line stands for the spirit of nature. It will guide the scout to live in harmony with the great outdoors.</i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Piper's Girl Scout Troop recently participated in <a href="https://www.girlscouts.org/who_we_are/global/world_thinking_day/">World Thinking Day</a>. World Thinking Day is when the Girl Scouts get to learn about other countries and their traditions. Each troop picks a country to learn about and then share what they have learned about it. This year, Piper's troop picked India. Here they are around the display they made about India.</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kpCVXO7O-98/U1G-CmzLxiI/AAAAAAAAHfM/L_qjMN93WdM/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kpCVXO7O-98/U1G-CmzLxiI/AAAAAAAAHfM/L_qjMN93WdM/s1600/021.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Piper's Girl Scout Troop did their version of <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/16/holi-2014_n_4965026.html">India's color festival, called Holi</a>. They were originally going to use silly string, but there was carpet, so they decided to use streamers instead. </i></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>The girls were responsible for doing research on India on their own. Then they put together all their research. Also, one of the girl's moms knew someone from India and she came to tell Piper's Girl Scout Troop about India, before World Thinking Day. I don't remember her name, but she said that her grandma used to ride an elephant to school. Someone would come by on an elephant and pick up kids for school. It was like their school bus. The elephant could carry ten children. Another thing she said was that there are peacocks everywhere and they are loud and annoying. She said they will make noise outside your bedroom window and wake you up in the morning. She said the peacocks in India have a much wider tail feather span than the ones here in the zoos. She said they are very pretty and the span is probably about four feet. I really enjoyed listening to her speak about India!</i></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Apparently, he was learning about soil and was listing what soil has in it. What is the first thing he listed? Poop! Yes, poop! <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>I walk Tymbre regularly and it never fails that people ask me if she is a white German Shepherd. I proudly tell them, "No. She is a Siberian Husky." Many times after I correct them, they notice her blue eyes and realize they were wrong. But there are definite differences in the two breeds. </i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Tymbre turned 13 years old on February 11th. (The weeks have started to fly by again and I am falling behind again on posting.) On a recent walk, two ladies were standing on the corner chit chatting as I was walking Tymbre. One of the ladies made the comment about her being a white German Shepherd. I corrected her and she said that her friend had a white German Shepherd that was 8 years old and she had to put down about a month ago. I said that Tymbre is 13. She replied, "13 months?" I said, "No, 13 years." She was very surprised. But if I didn't know any better, I would never think Tymbre is that old. She is in pretty good health for a 13 year old dog. Plus, we walk 2 miles almost every day. The other lady that was standing there said she had a friend that had a dog that lived to be 17 years old. I wish I could remember what kind of dog she said it was. So...it is possible that Tymbre could be here for quite some time yet! I took a picture of Tymbre on her 13th birthday.</i></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>This is Tymbre when we first got her. She was 9 weeks old and ADORABLE!</i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Another 9 week old picture. I think she was just bathed here. So cute!</i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>I remember a few years ago when Finn was in preschool, Jeremy usually picked up him from school. One day Jeremy couldn't, so I did. I saw Finn as I pulled up into the school parking lot. As soon as he saw that it was me, and not Jeremy, his body sank. He was upset that I was there to pick him up and not Jeremy. He even said something to me about it. I replied by asking him, "do you want me to leave you here?" After a little bit of back and forth talk between us, he decided it would be best to come with me, since Daddy wasn't able to come get him that day. Oh, Finn...</i></span>Amy Vosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07201765430429543118noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434747502468359848.post-64154191768473961332014-03-30T20:10:00.002-05:002014-03-30T20:10:46.035-05:00Pinewood Derby<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

</div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>My baby is NOT a baby anymore! On February 2, Rilian turned 5 years old! If you ask him when his birthday is, he will tell you "Groundhog's Day," which is in fact February 2nd!</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Rilian wanted a <a href="http://disneyjunior.com/jake-and-the-never-land-pirates">Jake and the Neverland Pirates</a> Birthday this year. <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>We celebrated Rilian's birthday the following weekend because Jeremy and I were out of town on his actual birthday. <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Just exactly how did I do that? I drew faces on crackers for them! Piper, Finn, and Seven each had one, maybe two or three. But they weren't as impressed as Rilian was! Rilian REALLY liked it! He had several! </i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Confession time...I am a slacker mom! I mean, look at my blog. It is constantly behind! Usually by a month OR TWO! Piper is 9 years old now and Finn is 8 years old. I was starting to feel really bad that they didn't know how to ride without training wheels on their bikes yet. I worked with them and Seven a couple of summers ago in the back yard some trying to get them to be able to ride without training wheels. Why the back yard? Because it had grass, which is much better than a cement street! At least I can't be blamed for that...then the temperatures got cold and we got busy. </i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>So, my goal for this summer was to have them be able to ride without training wheels...well, I jumped ahead of myself by a few months, and in January we had some nice weather and Piper and Finn and Seven learned how to ride their bikes without training wheels. I was almost shocked when we went out into the yard and Piper and Finn just took off! Check out Finn...</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyXcxyzPio_rvqQFiFvj2g9bVAzhUZrYZNafzWTi8twT3zJDjLdJFbBU-owy6hMu08Urn2aMGUakJbpX8CSIQ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>And Piper...</i></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzoDdXpme-wTNx2kwPuaQz9Zh91wAgcTlhVz54MpxN2AhXe80Ghf6Ude5TUVL_Gb8LU74_aPJaPKbwzf42Rgw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Please</i> <i>excuse the lady walking through our yard and the man</i> <i>crouched down by the tree, they were there to remove our Christmas lights (remember, this happened in January) and I didn't realize they were in the videos until I posted them just now. </i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Seven was able to ride without training wheels in the yard, but he just wasn't that into it that day, so I didn't get a video of him. He's not that comfortable yet without training wheels, but he is only 6 years old, so I don't feel so bad about that. I can say that Piper and Finn have successfully ridden their bikes on the street and not crashed or gotten skinned up. They are doing really good!</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>I guess now, I can take off the label of slacker mom. Or as least I can say that I'm not that much of a slacker mom anymore since my 9 and 8 year old can ride their bikes without training wheels. Maybe it is kind of a good thing that I did procrastinate about it, because it was a breeze to teach them this go 'round!</i></span>Amy Vosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07201765430429543118noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434747502468359848.post-13091968291778437472014-03-14T16:34:00.001-05:002014-03-14T16:34:02.455-05:00A Minion<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>A friend of mine teaches at the same school that Rilian goes to. She sent me this picture of him sitting in PE class. Look at his socks...</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>I may not be the most fashionable person, but I have enough fashion sense to not send my kid to school like this...I'm not sure why he did it, or what he was thinking...you never know with that kid!</i></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>My kids were in a goofy mood this trip to the zoo. So when we came to the caterpillar that Seven always wants his picture taken on, you can tell...</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ugPtnnApoc/Ux-xdoqxKRI/AAAAAAAAHQw/FzdgquDhz-o/s1600/014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ugPtnnApoc/Ux-xdoqxKRI/AAAAAAAAHQw/FzdgquDhz-o/s1600/014.JPG" height="328" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Then Seven got even crazier!</i></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I6_5iL6vUvM/Ux-xhRjJzlI/AAAAAAAAHQ4/fwvxfT6BcKs/s1600/015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I6_5iL6vUvM/Ux-xhRjJzlI/AAAAAAAAHQ4/fwvxfT6BcKs/s1600/015.JPG" height="310" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>You can really see their silliness when they wanted me to take their picture on the ladybug!</i></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tnz-MO_lSWA/Ux-xjgcRbGI/AAAAAAAAHRA/o0x1nfS1A7c/s1600/016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tnz-MO_lSWA/Ux-xjgcRbGI/AAAAAAAAHRA/o0x1nfS1A7c/s1600/016.JPG" height="400" width="238" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Before we left the zoo, they wanted me to take their picture on the sign near the entrance. Not quite as silly, but they wanted me to take their picture, so I did! I know they probably won't always want me to take their picture, so I gladly obliged. </i></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Piper has become quite the little artist. She put this piece of work on her door.</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Pretty good for a nine-year-old, huh?</i></span>Amy Vosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07201765430429543118noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434747502468359848.post-54052153667870587002014-03-11T14:07:00.001-05:002014-03-11T14:07:36.980-05:00The Grinch<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><i>Rilian made this face and said he was the Grinch. He said he looks like a Who.</i></span></div>
