3 Tigers and a Butterfly

Last month, my MOPS group had a fundraiser at Chick-fil-a. We had members of our group making balloon animals and face painting. They did a WONDERFUL job! Piper wanted to be a tiger...
Rilian also wanted to be a tiger. He was saying, "Grrr!"
The tiger seemed to be a pretty popular thing to be. Finn also wanted to be a tiger.
Before Seven got his face painted he smiled real big as he told me he wanted to be a butterfly. So, he became a butterfly. He didn't want the glitter that the girl butterflies had on their faces. I love that Seven doesn't care what others think. He is awesome!
Seven also got a scorpion and a snake on his arms.
Piper wanted a snake on her arm too. I love how it wraps around her arm!
If you are a mother with young children and you do not attend MOPS, I highly recommend you find a group and join!

At the Car Wash

I LOVE a free car wash. In fact, I live for them! There are a couple of car washes in town that give away a free car wash for "liking" them on Facebook. They also give away a free car wash occasionally for other things, too. I happened to be checking Facebook one morning and saw that 50's Classic Car Wash was giving away a free car wash that day. So, after we were done with our errands, we headed over there. At 50's Classic Car Wash, it is designed like it would have been in the 1950's. There is even a place to sit to get your shoes shined. They also give you popcorn. My kids love watching our car get washed through the window. They really like it when the car gets different colored soap! They said they were watching a movie.
While it was our car's turn to be washed, something happened and our car got stuck in there. It was just sitting there. Maybe one of the car wash's belts came off or something. It was funny because the kids said the movie paused. Eventually, the movie started playing again and had a happy ending...we got a clean car! Yea for a free car wash!

Mushroom Man

Seven has quite the imagination! It is a great imagination! He is one awesome kid! He was playing in the pool at Granny's house and discovered that there was a hole in the kickball. So, what did he do?
He put his goggles on and put the flattened kickball on his head and deemed himself "Mushroom Man"! He came up with the name all on his own. Genius!

A Visit to Whoville

Last month, downtown turned into Dr. Seuss's Whoville. It started off with a parade of Dr. Seuss characters. I wasn't too impressed with the parade. It was really short. But as my friend said, "It is the FIRST ANNUAL Dr. Seuss parade." Maybe it will get better over the years...

After we watched the very short parade, we took our kids to the Grace Museum. If you have never been inside the Grace Museum, there is a section for children. It has lots of neat hands on activities and stuff they can play with. One of the things is a tree the children can climb in. Rilian stuck his head out one of the holes in the tree and stared at me with his teeth like this...
I asked him what he was doing. He said he was a squirrel.

Piper also had to be a squirrel.
After we were done playing we went to the next floor down and did the "make and take" activity. Since the theme was Dr. Seuss, they made Horton ears. I thought it was funny that when I posted this picture, I realized Rilian still had his scissors in his hands. That boy LOVES to cut with scissors!
Finn and Seven working on their Horton ears.

Piper coloring her Horton ears.
Seven wearing his very colorful Horton ears.
Piper didn't want her picture taken by herself, so once Finn finished his Horton ears, they stood together wearing their Horton ears. Piper is so silly...
There were several Dr. Seuss statues displayed for all to see. This one was right outside the Grace Museum.
Well, the four adorable children were not part of the statue...that was my added touch.

Twilight Camp

Now that I have the attention of all the Edward and Jacob fans, sorry, to disappoint you, but the Twilight Camp Piper went to was for Girl Scouts. No worries, there weren't any vampires there. She had a really good time. It was every evening for a whole week. The last evening of camp there was an awards program. Here Piper sits waiting on her certificate and patch for her sash. She was tired...can you tell?
Before the girls were called to get their awards, they did a little performing. If you don't know how the Girl Scouts got started, you can read about it here. Now you can watch the Girl Scouts act out the story...
Piper's name was called and she got her awards...
There's my cute Brownie walking back to her chair...
