Blue and Gold Ceremony

We celebrated Finn becoming a Bear in Cub Scouts at his Blue and Gold Ceremony. If you remember Finn's ceremony from last year, his whole face was painted. This year, only his nose was painted. The white on his nose helps him to know right from wrong as he goes along the Cub Scout Trail.
Then it was Finn's turn to paint Jeremy's nose white!
Then Jeremy pinned his Bear patch on his uniform.

After the Cub Scouts had a turn at this game, it was the parent's turn. I willingly let Jeremy step up to the plate. The object of the game was to be the first to put the Oreo cookie that was sitting on your nose into your mouth without using your hands! I tried videoing it, but unfortunately, my phone died. So, I only have pictures. There's Jeremy with the Oreo on his nose. Jeremy won! He was the first parent to get the Oreo into his mouth! Way to go Jeremy!

My Feral Child

We had a yard sale one Saturday and Seven had fun picking up the pecans in our yard. I guess he was hungry and decided to crack them open and eat them. Or perhaps he just wanted a snack.
He reminded me of a feral child the way he was sitting there eating them!

How Does She Fit In There?

Piper is in the smaller range for her age. But it is amazing the small places she fits in. We were at Granny's and I was looking for Piper because it was time to leave. This is where I found her!
I think she may have a career as a magician's assistant. You know the one that gets locked in the box and "cut in half"? Yeah, she could totally do that!

Batman Needs to Exercise

Rilian has some pretty cool batman pajamas. They even have a cape! One night that he was wearing them he said that "Batman" needed to exercise so he could fly.
So, he hopped on the exercise bike and started riding!

My Calf's Name is...

Seven is in Kindergarten this year. He has always had a great imagination. It is fun to see the different times that it comes out. One week, his class was learning about Texas. He had a book that he colored. Every day that my kids come home from school, I always look in their backpacks and look at their work for the day. This particular day Seven had brought home his "Texas" book. As I was looking through the different pages, I came across this page...
I cracked up laughing! I asked him about it and he said, "Well, we eat cows."

2 Teeth

One weekend, Piper complained that her tooth hurt and it was loose. Of course it was the weekend and the dentist was closed. I even called, hoping there was an on-call dentist. No such luck. Piper continued to ask me to call the dentist throughout the whole weekend. Each time I told her that the dentist was closed and I would call first thing Monday morning. She even asked for me to take her to the ER. I told her that the ER probably couldn't help her and that she really needed to see a dentist. Poor girl! Don't worry I helped ease her pain as much as I could with Tylenol and ibuprofen. She also told me several times over the weekend that when she goes to the dentist on Monday, she wants to be knocked out. I think she was worried that whatever they were going to do to her on Monday would hurt. She has had a baby root canal before and I think she was remembering that.

Piper went to then dentist Monday. They weren't able to knock her out because of our insurance, but they were able to give her some gas to ease her pain while they pulled two teeth!
The adult teeth (that she isn't supposed to get til she is 12 or 13...she will be 9 in May) were coming in under her baby teeth and causing the problem. So, the dentist pulled the baby teeth.
It's a good thing Piper had Jeremy's strong hand to squeeze! She was very brave!

1st Place!

I wasn't able to go to Finn's Pinewood Derby race this year. When you have more than one kid, you can't always make it to everything of each of them. I was at Girl Scouts with Piper that morning and Jeremy was with Finn at the Pinewood Derby race. This year Finn came in 1st place! He got 1st place out of everyone there! His car also set a new record for speed!
Woo Hoo! Go Finn!!!

Mohawk for a Day

One Saturday evening, it was time for the boys to get their haircut. Seven wanted his to be cut into a mohawk. At the school he goes to, it is against the dress code for the kids to have a mohawk at school. We told Seven, he could only have his mohawk for Sunday and then we would have to cut it off for school before he went to bed that night. He didn't care. So, he had a mohawk for one day!

Silly Finn

Yes, that is Finn...sitting/hanging upside down in a chair. He was so proud of his "accomplishment"!
Perhaps holding on to his big toe helped him stay there?

Rilian's 4th Birthday

My sweet baby boy turned 4 years old on February 2, Ground Hog's Day! I am very well aware that was 2 months ago, but hey, better late than never! I am STILL behind in my blogging. In a perfect world, I would be caught up, but we don't live in a perfect world.

Look how adorable my sweet baby boy is! He's growing up into a sweet little boy.
For some reason, Rilian wanted a carrot on his cake. I'll tell you about that later...So, we decided to hide fake carrots in Granny's yard and let Rilian and his friends find them. Unfortunately, it took no time at all for them to find them because Seven and Piper told them where they were all hidden. Rilian and his friends had fun playing in the yard after they found all the carrots.

 Here is the cake...
You may think that is an interesting birthday cake. Well, it is exactly what the Birthday boy requested! A couple of weeks before his birthday, I asked him what kind of a birthday cake he wanted. Rilian said, "One with a carrot on it." His response was very random. I thought he was just making something up and asked him a few days later what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. He said a little annoyed that I was asking him again, "I said, one with a carrot on it!" Ok, then...the almost 4 year old had spoken. I asked him if he wanted anything else on his cake. Rilian said, "Letters". I asked, "Do you want the letters to say anything?" Rilian responded, "Whoever eats the most cake wins!" And there you have it folks...the story of why his cake looks the way it does.

Presents!
Singing to the Birthday Boy...
Rilian is very musical. He loves music and can't help but to dance when he hears it. Granny got him this keyboard for his birthday. He LOVED it!
Happy Birthday to my sweet, sweet baby boy! You are not a baby anymore. You are a sweet little boy. I love you and am so glad that God blessed us with you! I love your sweetness and everything about you.
