Take My Picture

We were at a friend's birthday party at a park and my kids each climbed up into a tree and wanted me to take their picture.

Of course, Seven had to be different.
I guess Rilian didn't want to climb the tree for a picture. Sometimes my kids want me to take their picture. Occasionally, they don't want me to take their picture. I like taking their picture when they want me to. No matter how little or insignificant the setting or occasion may be, I take advantage of them wanting me to take their picture. I know they are getting older and most likely they won't want me to take their picture as often as I want.

Finn's 7th Birthday

On July, 7, 2012, my sweet Finn turned 7 years old. (Yes, this is how far behind in posting I am.) He wanted to have an Incredible Hulk birthday party. Do you remember the bug hunt from Seven's party? Our friend, Fitia, thought it would be fun for there to be an Incredible Hulk hunt. Plus, Piper was disappointed that she didn't have some sort of hunt at her party. So, Fitia hid 15 yellow sticks and 15 green sticks with The Hulk attached to the end. She said the yellow ones were hidden easy and the green ones were hidden more difficult. We all thought (except Fitia) that they were ALL hard to find!
Let the Incredible Hulk hunt begin...Rilian found the first one.
It looks like Seven was saying something, but I'm not sure exactly what he was doing. You never know with him...
Piper was determined to find one.
Finn, the birthday boy, was looking, too. But he eventually gave up because they were hidden very hard. He decided he would rather play video games instead.
As we found them, we would lay them on the table to see which ones were left in the yard. We finally found them all. Plus, the missing bug that we never found at Seven's party!
After the Incredible Hulk hunt, it was time for the Slip-n-Slide!

They had fun letting the water out at the end of the Slip-n-Slide. Finn was measuring how far it was running out into the yard.
Time for cake! In case any of you are wondering, yes, Jeremy made Finn's birthday cake.

  What a sweet birthday boy!
Lighting the candle so we can sing to Finn.

Not only did Jeremy do a good job with the outside of the cake, but look what he did with the inside! It's green! Just like The Hulk.
 Time to dig in!
Finn must have really liked his cake!
 Granny Joyce is so creative...
Finn has really enjoyed playing Angry Birds on the iPod, iPad, and iPhones. So, when I saw the Angry Birds game at Target, I knew that would be the perfect gift!
He also got an Angry Birds T-shirt, which he LOVES!
Since Finn was having an Incredible Hulk birthday party, Fitia got him some Super Heros mask, which included The Hulk. Let me introduce, Finn, the Incredible Hulk!
 Piper, aka Captain America.
 Rilian, the Incredible Hulk.
Seven, aka Iron Man.
Seven really had fun with the masks. Now he is Thor.

Then we had some mutations happen...

Finn, aka Iron Man, with his little Iron Man pal.
 Me, with Hulk eyes.
 Piper with Hulk eyes.
 Jeremy with Hulk eyes.
Finn set up his Angry Birds game and started to play with it.
Look at the yellow bird fly!

We left the cake unattended for awhile and what happened? HULK SMASH!!!
Finn also got alot of Pirate Legos.
And when the party was over and it was time to leave Granny's, The Hulk came home with us instead of Seven. Good thing we had a booster seat that he could fit in!

4th of July

I am very well aware that the 4th of July was almost two months ago, but I know that I have very dedicated blog readers that really want to know what my precious family did on the 4th of July! (and this is where I am in my picture taking timeline)

We had a meal at Granny's house and hung out there alot of the day. The kids had fun playing and making a fort in the living room. However, they didn't seem to eat very much of their dinner. When we took apart the fort to put it way, we discovered why...
Yes, those are chocolate wrappers.

Some creatures are just naturally patriotic. Take my dog, Tymbre (pronounced timber), for example. She has a RED collar, WHITE fur, and BLUE eyes.
When it got later in the evening, and closer to dark, we played with sparklers. I guess Rilian thought they smelled.

Finn was didn't really want to get out of Granny's pool. Plus, he was afraid of getting burned again by the sparkler, but he at least let me take his picture.

Does anyone else use an already lit sparkler to light one that isn't lit yet?

We survived playing with sparklers without any major injuries. With four children, ages 8 years old to 3 years old, this can be scary. I am very thankful that Piper's hair was wet from the pool because Seven was waving his sparkler around and it hit Piper's wet hair and singed it. If it wouldn't have been wet, she would have been bald!

When it got dark enough, the fireworks started!

I thought this was a cute picture of Finn and Rilian watching the fireworks.
