Jingle Bells

When we got home from the parade, Jingle Bells was sitting in our living room waiting on us. Santa must have dropped him off at our house before the parade, just like he did before. If you know nothing about the Elf on the Shelf, you can read about him or her here.
The next morning, the kids found him in the playroom. He had made a smiley face using their Lite-Bright.
The kids named our elf "Jingle Bells" the first year he came to our house. Jingle Bells hid in the ivy and wrote a note and placed it on the orange Post-It note below the ivy.
The night Jingle Bells arrived at our house, the kids talked about changing his name. This is what Jingle Bells wrote on the Post-It note.
Jingle Bells got a little ornery...he drew a mustache on each of the kid's faces as they slept! Rilian had spent the night at Granny's house, so Jingle Bells had to go over to Granny's to draw on Rilian's face.
Seven moved a couple of times, so Jingle Bells had a little bit of a difficult time trying to draw Seven's mustache.
Finn...
Piper is a light sleeper, so Jingle Bells felt a big sense of accomplishment when he was able to draw Piper's mustache without her waking up!
Jingle Bells left a picture of the mustache he drew on Rilian for Rilian to see in the morning...
Then he perched himself on our mantle with the pictures he took of his beautiful artwork on the kid's faces. They thought it was funny in the morning when they saw Jingle Bells with the pictures.
Jingle Bells hung on our curtain rod...
He hid in our Christmas tree...before we decorated it. We get a real tree, but wait a day or two to decorate it. We like to give the branches some time to fall a little after being bound tight on the ride home.

He hid in our entry way, on the shelf, behind a picture of Finn's silhouette.
Jingle Bells decided to play "Where's Waldo?" and tried to blend in with the snowmen on our mantle.
Jingle Bells got mischievous and made snowflakes and tied them to the ceiling fan in the playroom...
It made a mess on the floor...
When Rilian saw that Jingle Bells had his monkey scissors, he got upset! I told him that I am sure Jingle Bells would put them back when he is done with them.

This was before we stopped giving our kids pop tarts, but Jingle Bells was eating one on the top shelf in the pantry.
Hiding in Seven's stocking...
Sitting on top of the kid's bathroom cabinets...
Drinking chocolate syrup in the fridge...
Chillin' with his homies in the "hot tub"...
Every time Rilian went to the bathroom, he would take a marshmallow out and eat it. I saw him once and asked if he was touching Jingle Bells. Remember, he would lose his magic if he was touched. Rilian told me he was taking the marshmallows out of the middle, not close to Jingle Bells.
Hanging upside down on the light fixture in the kitchen...
Jingle Bells bagged up all the marshmallows from the previous night and left them on the island in the kitchen under the light fixture he was hanging on.
Sitting in Rilian's stocking...
This note was beside the stocking. I read it to Rilian and he got a big smile on his face.
Sitting in the freezer...
Hanging upside down like a bat in Fluffy's cage...
Sitting on our movie shelf...
Jingle Bells wrote a message on the kid's bathroom mirror. It is kind of hard to read in the picture, but it said, "3 more days". He wrote this three days before he headed back to the North Pole with Santa.
Silly Jingle Bells...he got a pair of each of the kid's underwear and hung them on a curtain rod in our living room. I'm sure it looks like we have mixed matched curtains, but there are actually 3 panels hanging up. The third panel is to the right of the light colored one and it is the same as the darker one. It is an alternating pattern.
The last day that Jingle Bells was with us, he sat on the light fixture above our kitchen table.
Thanks for visiting and playing "hide and seek" with us for a few days, Jingle Bells. See you next year!
